Whether attending Choral Evensong, hearing world-class organ artistry, or walking through centuries of American history, this tour offers a unique opportunity to encounter Boston through the lens of sacred music, worship, and tradition.
Trinity Church
Located in the heart of Copley Square, Trinity Church is one of Boston’s most iconic sacred landmarks and a masterpiece of American architecture. Designed by renowned architect H.H. Richardson and completed in 1877, the church is celebrated for its stunning Romanesque design, magnificent interior murals, and vibrant liturgical and musical tradition. Trinity has long been recognized for excellence in sacred music, particularly its distinguished organ program, choir, and Anglican worship life, making it a centerpiece of Boston’s sacred music heritage.
Park Street Church
Standing prominently at the edge of Boston Common, Park Street Church has been a landmark of evangelical faith and public life since 1809. Known for its soaring steeple and historic role in abolitionism, missionary work, and social reform, the church played a significant part in shaping 19th-century Boston. Its historic sanctuary and longstanding tradition of congregational hymnody and sacred music continue to reflect the enduring spiritual character of the city.
King's Chapel
Founded in 1686 as New England’s first Anglican church, King’s Chapel is one of Boston’s oldest and most historically significant houses of worship. Its current stone building, completed in 1754, is an architectural treasure and a rare example of colonial Georgian design. Today, the chapel is known for its unique liturgical tradition, remarkable acoustics, and celebrated music program, which includes performances on its historic C.B. Fisk organ and a continuing commitment to excellence in sacred music.
Old North Church
Best known for the famous lantern signal of Paul Revere’s midnight ride, Old North Church is Boston’s oldest surviving church building and a treasured symbol of American history. Built in 1723 as an Anglican congregation, the church continues to serve as an active Episcopal parish while preserving its deep colonial roots. Visitors encounter both the story of the American Revolution and the enduring tradition of Anglican worship and sacred music within this historic and beautifully preserved sanctuary.
Church of the Advent
The Church of the Advent is internationally respected for its rich Anglo-Catholic liturgical tradition and exceptional sacred music program. Founded in 1844 and located in Boston’s historic Beacon Hill neighborhood, the church is renowned for its reverent worship, professional choir, and deeply rooted choral tradition. It's celebrated Choral Evensong and organ recitals draw worshipers and musicians alike, offering a profound experience of Anglican liturgy, beauty, and sacred music at the highest level.
